Watermain and sidewalk construction on Cameron Street, Windsor Drive, Linton Avenue and Sherwood Road West in the Town of Ajax Message for contractors attending test hole dig-ups in the Region of Durham. The Regional Municipality of Durham is committed to taking every reasonable precaution to protect the health and safety of its employees and any contractors engaged by the Region, in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). The Region has taken a number of precautionary measures to protect workers from exposure to the recent COVID-19 pandemic. We ask contractors who wish to attend test hole dig-ups to limit their personnel to one representative per contractor and to maintain a minimum social distance of 2.4 metres. It is our expectation that you will exercise appropriate measures with respect to any personnel you deploy to the Region for these test holes. Further, the Region reserves the right to ask contractor representatives to leave if it becomes evident that they are ill and/or exhibiting symptoms while attending our premises. Your co-operation and understanding regarding our continuing commitment to protecting our staff is appreciated. |
